Dehydrated Red Onion Minced is produced by processing fresh red onions into finely chopped pieces, typically 1–3 mm in size.

This product retains the deep reddish-purple color and sweet-pungent flavor of red onions, while offering convenience, long shelf life, and ease of handling. Its consistent particle size and strong flavor make it ideal for use in seasoning blends, dry soups, instant meals, marinades, and processed food items.

Fresh, high-quality red onions with vibrant color and optimal maturity are selected. Only bulbs free from damage, decay, or pesticide residues are used. Onions are thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt and outer impurities, followed by mechanical or steam peeling to ensure food-grade hygiene. Peeled onions are chopped into fine, minced particles (generally 1–3 mm) using stainless steel, food-grade dicing machines.

The minced onion is dehydrated using hot-air belt dryers or tray dryers at temperatures between 60–70°C. The drying process reduces the moisture content to less than 6%, preserving the onion’s flavor and color. Dried minced onion is sieved to remove fines or oversized particles, resulting in a uniform minced product ideal for consistent flavor distribution.

Each batch is tested for color consistency, moisture levels, microbial load, and compliance with global food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, FDA, ISO). The final product is packed in double-layered poly-lined kraft paper bags or food-grade HDPE bags to protect against moisture and contamination. Common pack sizes: 10 kg, 15 kg, and 20 kg.
